Pela Oil Extractor

Anyone using the Pela Oil extractor? I've been using it on a 04 VW New Beetle TDI with great success. As you may know, diesel oil can really get to be a mess, and many of the guys on Fred's TDI page were using these with great results. I will be trying it on my next oil change - seemed to do an excellent job on the VW.

If this is one of those dip stick suction changers, I have used it and the tube goes all the way to the bottom of the pan. It works quite well. I alternate between that and the traditional method to make sure I don't have any metal floating around in there. I do 2 dip stick then 1 under car change.

Yes, that's what I'm using with the VW. Sure made oil extraction easy- not that the pan method is hard. Good idea to use both methods to make sure the contaminents all get flushed.

I believe I bought mine throught Amazon. Just Google Pela oil extractor. I used mine on a VW diesel and diesel oil gets black almost instantly. To clean out the black oil I flushed it our with gas. Just about any type of solvent would work, even used Simple Green full strength and it did a nice job of getting the black oil out too. Nice to use because you can see how much oil is extracted, no mess no fuss, just pump it 10 or 15 times and watch the oil start flowing. I also used it to suction out the filter housing and got quite a bit more oil than I thought. You pay about $50 plus shipping and as I said the VW guys loved them.
