disengaging auto locks

bought 2004 mini without a manual, how to you disengage the doors from
self locking at 10 mph? also have drivers door that won't open either, in
california, so we don't have cold or frost! any more ideas other that what
has already been posted?

live in area where taking it to the dealer isnt convenient....so words of
wisdom greatly needed.

Sorry, only way to reprogram is to take to the dealer. They usually charge 1/2 hr labor.

Not sure what you're asking here.

In the previous threads, other mini owners stated that they had drivers
doors that they couldnt open, i live in SOCAL, so for me that isnt the
problem of resolving this issue. Does anyone else have a suggestion to
fix this without going to the dealer. (dealer not local)

Gotta go to the dealer or a local shop that has a BMW diagnostic computer...as it is a setting within the computer.

My dealer charged $50 to disable this and the multi-step unlock.

Lots of euro specialty shops will have the needed equipment.

Unfortunately you will need to get used to the fact that there are certain things that you have to visit the dealer for, this is one of them. There is an outside chance that you can find a local BMW garage that could help you out.

Still in warranty? Take it to the dealer for the door. Likely the cable came out of the mount-- there is a fix for this.
