Squeeky shifter

Go figure. My warranty goes away and crap starts to fall apart.
When I shift from 1st to 2nd there is a squeek as the shifter passes neutral. It is definitely coming from the shifter shaft. Is there an easy way to get some grease in there or another good way to lube it (lube the shaft...te he he )?

Just pull up the shift boot ring. You'll figure out the rest. Make sure that the guide pins are aligned before drive the ring back home. Oh, and try to control yourself around the lube.
