Strange "whirring" sound after start up.
Dont get me wrong, this damn car has been nothing but fun to drive and cruise in; but at this point im getting pretty agrevated with it. I've already had to shell out $600 last month to get the main fan replaced, im afraid of what it will cost me if this is something serious.
This is an issue that started to be faint just befor I realized that there was a problem with the fan, and has now gotten very noticable and makes me concerned. With in two or three seconds after start up, there is a "whirring" sound that seems to eminate under the air box and battery (tranny, my fear) area that gets louder with engine RPM. The car drives fine, no jerking, no obvious loss of power, and gas mileage seems unaffected. At this point, i am baffled and have no idea to the cause; but am very concerned that it could be a serious problem and potentially leave my wife stranded.
At this point, I seek input or insight from you guys befor I have to take the car to the dealer again in less than six weeks.

Bump.
As im thinking about it, i know these cars have some kind of electric power steering asist. But is it hydrolic like "conventional" setups? I wondering if it's the power steering pump that is whining becuase of low fluid, but I dont see a resevior for it.
Im just gasping for ideas here.
