Where to get metal trash cans for combustibles?

Ive been using a tin can to store my paper towels
and oily rags after servicing my cars.

Where can i get (for cheap) a small metal trash
can with ideally a foot lever opener?

I checked Sears and HomeDepot, but they either
didnt carry it or was like $100...

Thanks

Ikea sells a nice treadle-operated, galvanized steel can in various sizes, the smallest being only about 20 dollars. I bought a couple for the garage and basement workshop.

thanks, Greatbear! that's more in my price range
for a trash can right now.

i checked out harborfreight.com, they don't seem to have one with the foot lever.

Northern Tools has a cool one, but $80...

Bed Bath and Beyond has a couple of options, though the ones in the $20-30 range are rather smallish. There's always a $5 off $15 or 20% off coupon in your mailbox.

^^ those do look nice. but the internal seems to be
plastic...which can catch fire if the rags spontaneously
burn.

I didn't consider that - it's a good point. Safety trumps aesthetics in this case.

Ken, you're right those two have plastic liners in them. The metal part is also open on the bottom.

Wow, I got one of those old fashioned metal ones you used to see with the separate top at Home Depot for like $20.

I use it in the winter to store fireplace ashes outside the house that are quite out yet. Those ashes can stay hot for days!

^^ yep, i saw those too. missing one of the key characters
on the trash can i had in mind... the foot lever.

but the one Greatbear shared with us (IKEA) would be a nice
choice.

since i wanted a red can anyway i went with the
ones approved for combustibles. (as MISFITOY said,
i know im going to have to spend $ on a good one later on,
so just got it the first time around).

i was very surprised Autozone did not carry these type
of trash cans.

got my red trashcan today from GlobalIndustrial!
wow, very quick service.

Im going to get the Texaco vintage decal from Griots...
my trash can is the same one griots sells..but $10
less.

btw, i went to IKEA over the weekend to look for some
other stuff and found that trash can GreatBear mentioned.
it's actually pretty good. I'd paint it red.
