Was at a Drive-Thru today and noticed that there was a 'chatter' when the clutch pedal was pushed to the floor (car was idling). No chatter occurs if I put it in neutral and release the clutch pedal. I never noticed this before.

If you are familiar with the dry-clutch sound on MV Agusta Motorcycles, it is a quieter version of that sound.

Any ideas? I go in for an oil change in a couple weeks, but want to 'grease the skids' with my SA before the appointment.

there is a tsb about this issue, cant find it right now. I had the same issue and my dealer replaced my clutch under warantee. And yes it does sound exactly like a quiet dry clutch (i ride my brother's ducati M1000 alot)

 

chattering may go away if u let out ur clutch slowly / smoothly.

my 03 mcs with 32k track & autocross time had noise with clutch depressed, fine with it out. clutch worked fine no slipping. Diagnosed as t/o bearing. Dealer covered labor and i bought parts- Initially dealer offered to tear apart but i had to authorized payment for parts/labor $2k- if clutch worn significantly parts & labor were not under warranty- if clutch had normal wear covered underwarranty. Decided i liked free labor & i buy parts.
