Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for MINI Cooper (R50), Cabrio (R52), and Cooper S (R53) MINIs.
Well, I have an HAI and I decided to take out a few un needed things. I slid the ECU out of the stock air box housing and just zip tied it where it was before. Right next to the fuse box. It that ok? Was it in the air box housing for a reason, or just to clean things up a bit?
Hmmm...you removed the bottom of the stock airbox and such. Removed a pound or so. Well...as long as there is little chance of the ecu getting wet I don't see a problem.
having it insulated from the engine bay by having it in the stock airbox at least keeps the ecu slightly cooler than it otherwise would be....you can't go wrong with keeping your computer cool...
