I've had a clunking sound since the weeked of the Dragon. I've checked everything out the best I could and even the motor mounts since I had a sc and crank pulley installed while at the dragon. The sound comes from what seems to be the strut tower, foot well or somewhere in that general vicinity. It occurs when letting off the gas around 4k rpms in a low gear. It also occurs when turing the wheel and starting to take off. It sounds as though it is a bracket with a loose bolt.

I had to carry my car in for service today to get some seat work done so I thought I would let the tech look at the problem. He said he heard it but has no idea what it is. In other words. Great tech.

While at the dealer I was able to look under the car while it was on the lift. I was grabbing and jerking anything that had a bolt on it. Nothing made a noise. I did rotate the tire, while in gear, and the transmission would move once the gear stopped the tire. I expect that some movement is normal? As long as the transmission didn't move a lot.

Any ideas of what it may be? My best guess is something in the suspension but I can't tell what.

 

Front control arm bushings, strut mounts, swaybar links, engine/transmission mounts. Without seeing the car those are my guesses. I left out balljoints becuase you didn't complain about it when hitting speed bumps or diveways.
