Need assistance from MCS owners

Well, Ive had my MCS for about 2 months now, and I have a question related to engine idling noise.

The motor sounds like it idles a bit rough. Meaning, at idle, the motor has a slight tick/rumble noise. it seems like it occurs on every fourth stroke. My MA says it's normal and that it's the supercharger (BPV maybe?) releasing pressure when idling. IS this true? My GF has an MC and hers sounds fine, and I have not met any MCS owners in person where I could compare sounds.

I hope this thread makes sense, but I would really like to address this issue incase it is not operating normally. As far as normal driving, everything seems upto par. thanks in advance for any advice!

Hard to say. My car makes alot of noises which I consider normal due to the extra plumbing of the supercharger. Also a MINI engine is rather loud to me compared to other engines.

yeah it's funny, my mini makes more noise in the engine bay than my subaru did anyway, it's like a valve tick but much deeper in tone, if thats make any more sense?

You might be hearing the injectors... they are loud ticks.. I don't hear anything unusual..
If you have the 6sp... you might be hearing tranny/clutch noises especially at idle..

will say one thing its not the bypass valve. At idle there is no pressure for it to release.

At idle the manifold is under a vacume, so the BPV should be open. It opens whenever the manifold is below a vacume level set by the spring.

The MCS does have the rumble sound and you won't hear it in the MC, we just upgraded from a '05 MC to a '06 MCS, and the MC didn't sound anything like the MCS

that would be great. The weird thing is, I cant hear it from the outside of the car (perhaps due to other prominent noises made by the motor) as well as I can from the inside. So my guess is that maybe the noise is coming from the headers, or somewhere near the firewall but who knows???
