DTC. P2097. Post Catalyst Max/Rich.

Has anybody thrown a DTC P2097? I have 2002 MC with 65k miles. Car drives/runs with no problems. This is a hard code that returns after erased and engine is started. I have only mods, CAI, Remus exhaust (with resonator removed).

I know this is related to the o2 sensor after the cat, but would simply replacing this sensor solve this issue?

Help!?

It would help if that is the issue. Check your connections to make sure they're not loose before blaming the O2 sensor.

Hi Barnabas,

Did exactly that last night! Jacked up the car, checked connections, pulled the sensor, lightly cleaned the carbon build up off, reinstalled, rescanned and erased the code! As of this morning, still no more SES light!

Fingers crossed!

Thanks!

OK, which O2 sensor did you clean, before or after the cat. converter? Is the check engine light still off? Did you do any investigating into the fuel evap vent possibly stuck open or anything like that?

reset the battery and let the car sit without the battery connected for 1/2 hour. your adaptations values are messed up and you are runing rich. the code will probably come back, if you don't reset the battery and let it sit, sorry!
