Parking lamp

I cannot for the life of me get my parking lamp bulb out. I tried twisting o the left and right pinching the base pulling. It will not come out the driver side bulb is out, but I also tried taking the passenger side out and it just won't. Is there a special tip other than twist to the left?

I think it's push and twist.

Sounded like a great idea I was excited to try. Tried it still no luck...

But I did manage to cut my hand on the back. They could have made it so you can actually get ahold of the thing.

You could take to bumper cover off so that you can get a better grip on it.

Take off the turn signal bulb holder first to make space for a better grip. The parking lamp bulb holder can be very firm the first time but will loosen up afterwards. You can also twist using pliers for more leverage.

I stopped in at the MINI dealership they took it in used some pliers and got it off. Changed the bulb and loosened up the other one so if that goes I am all set. They didn't even charge me!.

Old thread, but worthy of a new post. As mentioned earlier, first remove the larger turn-signal harness from its plug to allow for more room. Then when trying to remove that pesky parking lamp from its socket, leave the wiring harness and male-plug "plugged" into the socket before trying to turn the assembly. Without the plug in the socket, the housing for the lamp is too flexible, making it harder to turn. The firm harness/plug will allow you to get a good grip, and as it is rigid, will give you the torque you need to turn it that 1/4 turn to get the lamp out.
