I'm thinking of norogogy(sp)wires.Dave claims, and I trust him,a 1 to 2 hp gain to an mcs.Is performance smoother through the range,or is the benefit only at the top end? I just installed the Rogue airbox, easy and quick, sound increase only at top rpm's.Seat of the pants evaluation is that the hp gains are there,at top rpm's.The people at rogue were great to deal with, and most informative. Mike

Nology wires are great. Probably what I will get if I ever switch to something other than OEM.

My butt, however, is a very poorly calibrated accellerometer, and I doubt I will be able to feel that extra pony, but I will trust them that the ignition spark is huge.

I went with the magnecore's just because they were about 1/2 the price of the nology wires.

I notice a slight improvement, not huge but it seems to give you a little more in the lower rpms.
Again, the speed improvement isn't much but it seems to smoother throughout the rpm range. Is it worth it? I don't know... it's probably one of the easiest things to do because you just pull the old ones out and push the new ones in. (Nologys are slightly harder because you have to ground them which involves unscrewing and screwing 4 screws I believe) I decided to do them first because it's cold here in PA right now and I don't have a garage (or time) right now to do the exhaust or the intake.

I'd say if you can afford them go for the Nology wires, otherwise go for the Magnecore. For more of a performance increase go for a new exhaust or intake as there's not that much of a boost in hp with the wires.

Try searching the forums, too - there are lots of threads discussing this. I was unconvinced that there was any truly worthwhile reason to spend the extra dough on the Nology wires, and the Magnecors seemed to really smooth out my car's idle and first gear acceleration. I doubt there's much of a benefit at the top end. Plug wires aren't really about adding horsepower, anyway - who cares about 1-2 hp?

Rocketboy (is it just me or did you take a long vacation from MCO?), just so you are aware, the red color of the Magnecors is nowhere near Chili Red. It's sort of a light brick red, sort of orange-y. The breather tube from the Moss air intake, on the other hand, is right on!

I'm thinking of the blue cause, well, I like blue! (and have Lapis blue leather seats - does that count?)

Ya.. you can say I took a vacation.. more like a school/stress break.. heh heh.. but at least the wires are more red then, say, blue..

BTW.. Did you change your username? For the life of me, I can't place it...

Yeah, I changed it from chrisneal, just because that's my actual name, and I started thinking about all the info I post about where I live, parking on the street, hating car alarms, etc. I thought a bit more anonymity would be in order! Of course, now I've blown the whole thing...

On the Magnecor's, The Red wires are 8.5mm and the Blue wires are 8mm - I chose the red and they work fine - no major changes, but the acceleration is slightly smoother through the rpm ranges.

I got mine from RandyBMC at Mini-Motorsport.com.
