LC20 oil antioxidant and FP60 fuel system cleaner...

Has anyone tried these products? http://lcdinc.zoovy.com/

I read a lot about both of them here: www.bobistheoilguy.com

If you search them, you'll see that a lot of the people on that board count it as two of the only additives they've ever seen that have any actual recorded benefits. That information is based on various used oil analyses.

It caught my attention, so I did more research and found more of the same - glaringly positive reactions.

But I wonder if anyone has tried them in a MINI? Does any of us have any experience with it at all? I don't think this needs to turn into people spouting their opinions on additives in general; I'm interested in actual experience with this product.

Well since you asked, no haven't heard of them. I'm not a fan of what I'd describe as snake oil products. Your car, your money, your choice. Good luck with the snake oil.

Ok, thank you for that. Perhaps I should be more clear: is there a person on this board who has used either of these products and has positive or negative opinions on it to report?

I would offer that if you use a high quality fuel and motor oil that these "additives" wouldn't be necessary.

It's not funny in the least! That company is a complete rip off.

First I bought their cross drilled brake lines. Yes you guessed it...they made my braking worse. I needed to use a whole role of duct tape to get them to stop leaking! Then I bought one of their lowering kits & It wouldn't work on my runflats! Now they are selling a rip off engine scrub for 9.99 no less. Well I can get the same results by pouring some beach sand in there at my next oil change.

But they do have two products that may well pay for themselves...the oil bypass valve & the wiper blade sharpener.

Since no one has posted on FP60 yet. I use it and like it. I have used other fuel cleaners in the past like Amsoil PI, Techron, Powerservice, B12 and a few others.

So far this product works the best (for the benefits) and it is the cheapest.

If you use a top tier gas you should not need it but then again; how do you know that it is not needed? #2, all cars will get some carbon etc throught the burning process and lastly, with all the EPA stuff on cars, I would use it.

Even with a PAO or ester based oil, that does not clean the fuel sys.

That is hillarious. My favorite is the lowering system.

gsxr1100 - thanks for sharing your experience.

Scottinbend - That is my thinking, too. Have you ever had a used oil analysis done on your oil to determine how clean your engine is from running quality gas, and quality oil? I haven't, but I'd like to. Based on others' findings - it seems those steps don't keep your engine as clean or running as well as it could. But we are talking about fanatical maintenance here. When I read about toptier gas, I was like, great, that's an easy step towards a clean engine. Turns out to be not that simple according to some.

I have done oil testing on my engines since the mid 90's. I have not noticed anything new or better yet. I know you will have less carbon on pistons with a add in gas.

The biggest issue I have with the oil testing is my car (not a mini) eats the add pkg up pretty quick (within 15K miles).
