new '06 MCa not shifting easily
I am wondering if this is just part of the car getting broken in (NOT BROKEN).
'06 MCa, a bit over a week old with 502 miles on it. Everything was great until yesterday. I drove to staples no problems, but on the way home I am feeling, hearing, and seeing (tachometer) the car is not shifting easily -but eventually shifts. At about 42 mph it is really struggling to shift and the rpms are rising. It has happened twice today on two different times taking the car out. Any ideas? Thanks.

Sorry to read this. Take it in right away! If you don't feel safe driving it, have MINI Roadside Assistance flatbed it to your Dealership. Insist on taking a MINI tech for a ride to show them the problem, if possible. Sometimes they cannot duplicate it! But there may be a fault code in your MINI's computer that will let them know what's wrong. Good luck with it. Clover
Amen to getting the car looked at right away. Not shifting is NOT normal. My MCSa loved to shift when I was doing the break-in process. There were times when I wondered how my left knee would have been able to keep up with the 6-speed automatic (I have suffered from tendonitis for about 10 years, now and manual shifting is but a memory). Definitely get the car looked at NOW.
