pulling to one side or the other while in gear? also noise from rear when breaking?

i have a '05 MCS with LSD and i have noticed that the car, while in gear accelerating and coasting, will pull either to the left or the right, more to the right on flat surfaces, and pulls a bit harder while under acceleration. when i take the car out of gear and coast in neutral the car tracks perfectly straight.. is this normal? is this just torque steer, if so why does it pull to one side while under no acceleration??

another question, when i am stopping and first the initially step on the break i hear a clunk noise from the back wheel area, almost as if the rear break caliper was loose and was being pushed forward from the applied break pressure... this is not the exhaust popping either. is this a normal noise, i am thinking not, but just curious to see if anyone else hears a thunk from the rear end when breaking?

I wonder if the "pulling to one side" is a common problems w/ the new MCS...

Not sure if the same problem as yours.., or is it even a problem..

I have an 03 that does the same exact thing. even when just cruising it pulls mostly to right. even when decelerating but in gear. If in neutral tracks straight.

Here are some reasons why it can be doing that..

1. low tire pressure
2. need alignment
3. ripped OEM camber (hopefully not mushrooming)

Have everything checked...

Tire pressure is even. Alignment is also fine. When coasting in neutral, car is straight as arrow.

BTW MINIs dont have torque steer... equal drive shaft lengths, well in theory they dont, but mine has ever so small to the right...
