did u mention to them about software upgrades due on ur car? (hard start)

on ur key fob: it will only open the windows (press and hold the 'wings' button) w/the key fob button, but not close.

to close insert the key in the door key hole and turn clockwise =windows close.
it will also do it to open= turn counter-clockwise....

btw, does the 2002 mini S have those window closing function using the button on the key? like when u came out from the mini and find out that your windows hasn't close yet, u press and hold onto the button from the key and the window will close? i think the newer models has this function not sure if the 2002 one has it or not, cuz i tried, nothing happen.

ok, so i got my car back today
have the tach and flywheel and those bolt and stuff replace

and now the clutch is not as heavy as before. it feel like the regular Mini cooper clutch, may be a little stiffer.
is that what it should happen after a new flywheel installed?
and it easier and smoother to drive the car now.

also, i told them about the steering wheel clicking thing. they just lubed the lower column for me instead of replacing it. is that ok?

oh and for the cold start. they said the new software is not out yet. they just reset the adaptor thing? so the computer will start all over and recognize how i drive the car instead of the previous owner. don't know if it will work. but thats the main thing of what they did for me this time.

overall i am satisfy with their service again.

Okay, now drive it for a while and please let us know if replacing the flywheel made any difference to the sound you noted before.

Specifically...stop the car, engine running, put it in neutral, engage clutch (let pedal out) fast...any tapping noise?

Also, was it a stock, OEM flywheel (i.e. same as the original part). Thanks.

i heard the version 4.2 is out, so i don't know but my last update from my previous owner was a 3.6, but will see what happen in these few days for the cold start.

for the clutch thing, i will try tomorrow, but it easier to get the car moving from idle. its smoother now, i believe they replace the oem flywheel for me, its a 220mm one, its what it wrote on the service receipt. the "dak dak dak" noise still there. on the service receipt they replace my flywheel because of "clutch rattle at 3000rpm."

and they lube a lot of places for me i think, cuz i told them its squeak from my seat. they lube it, squeak gone.

anyway, after around 3000 km of driving, i will go back for the 1st inspection.

then i will see if there's any problem during the time and have them to check again.

thanks for all who replied!

I have looked back through your posts...I don't remember you complaining of a "clutch rattle at 3000 rpm", only a noise at idle (maybe I missed it.)

Somehow, I am not surprised the "dak dak dak" noise remains - I think it is probably normal. Ask them if your throw-out bearing was okay.

for the clutch thing, now when i press it and release it doesn't has that click anymore, the click is like the point where the car move when releasing the clutch.

i dont' know about the flywheel thing, they just said its rattle at 3000rpm when they test drive with me.

and now sometimes when i drive it, theres a click click click noise from the engine, after a while its gone. are they normal?

and the noise when idle, its still there. is that normal? its quite loud. at least i can hear it in my car when all window is close.

like 5-I0 degrees colder??

IC is the first thing u see when u open the bonnet in front of the car, it has a black cover on it w/an "S" on it looks like a radiator feel the whole unit, sides and middle (the sides have a grid like pattern on them) while the car is runing if thats the clicking noise u hear its normal!!
