I got it a little while ago, I have a cia and a borla exhaust also. For the money I think it was worth it. It's got a noticable difference in power, which makes it feel a little more peppy. It was real easy to install, but they tell you to use a battery charger while installing so that it will have the proper amount of power while reprograming. If the voltage drops below a certain point it won't finish the job. All in all I'd recommend it.

Don't think it's year specific, but I had to chose between 91 or 93 octain. Once you use it on one car it can't be used on another one. It has something to do with the info it gets off the old program that will only work with that specific car.

Read up about it on the web site for the Shark Injector. They do that on purpose; for two reasons:

1.) They get to sell a lot more Shark Injectors, and therefore make more money

2.) They argue that each and every MINI is slightly different in the way the engine performs. Therefore, every MINI owner who wants Shark Injection, should theoretically have their own injector, so as not to confuse your car's computer, or damage it in anyway, by replacing your original programming with a friends' programming, should you use their injector...

I think that sounds logical, and I believe it, but it also might be B.S. to justify everyone having to have their own.

P.S. I don't own a Shark Injector, but I've been very tempted to get one!

I currently have a Shark Injector and it is installed on my 03 mini cooper s. I have all the bolt ons such as intake, catback exhaust, 15% pulley, etc. I am looking into installing a set of OBX headers and an Ultrik cam that is similar to the Schrick. Will all of this work with my current shark software? Will conforti update the software for me? And, I was also considering a GIAC tune...what will be my best route?

How do I get a Jan Tune? I googled it...no luck. I really dont want to remove the ECU and mail it...I'd much rather just drive a couple hours and have the work done if possible. How much better is the Jan Tune than the GIAC?? Thanks for the help guys.
