Can anyone tell me what the black oval hose/tube is - it seems to be dripping fluid when I stop when I drive in hot weather in Los Angeles right now. (There is a close up image, and then a farther away shot showing the undercarrage where the oval hose/tube is)

It's your air conditioner drain tube. The fluid is water that is collected on the coils inside the car. Perfectly normal. :smile:

It is cooking out in California right now triple digit temperatures are looming

 

For those of you who do not want to waste precious resources, just put a Perrier bottle under the hose-enjoy.

Condensation mixed with smog and road dirt...I drink it every day!

 

Just strain it through your teeth.

 

I have a long straw attatched to the tube, so when I'm thirsty I always have water/dirt/oil/other pollution ready to drink!

 

Here in NC, that tube runs like a faucet... It's good to see a puddle everytime I stop... The AC system works great...
