Mixing Washer Fluids?

Is there any issue with mixing the purple and blue washer fluids together or should I be waiting till one has run out?

Are you concerned about the resulting colour mix clashing with your MINI?

well

Yea really when you mix blue and purple! No really though I was just wondering if it would cause any issues. The jets on the washers are so extreme on the mini's more of that liquid gets all over my car then the window.

My SA told me any standard windshield washer fluid you use is fine. So I guess mixing is okay, too. I'm also guessing this would apply to the washers on Xenons, too, but I don't have any experience w/ those.

Don't do it! It will cause a chemical reaction! It will eat out the plastic fluid bottle and if this stuff gets on you paint...well, let's just say you'll have to have your car completely stripped down to bare metal to be sure you get it all off!!

I think JCW makes a washer fluid good for at least 3hp. It's $758 a bottle though.

Most of what is in washer fluid is water and alcohol. The color is put in to let stupid people know maybe it’s not something to drink, but they seem to anyway. Mix all you want.

I can buy 3 different aftermarket solutions, combine them and gain 2.9 HP. And it only costs $68 per bottle, so much cheaper than the JCW solution.

Of course, I have to drain it all out prior to taking the MINI in for warranty work....

Howard - The jets are adjustable. Just stick a pin or needle in the spouts & aim them where they'll be most effective (like at the tailgater behind you!).

Mixing the purple and blue colors is fine. Just don't mix the blue and orange unless you have a MSCS in that combo, though, or your car will explode and your dog will die and you'll get shingles and your computer will crash and your brother will get hit by a meteor and your house will burn and your boss will ***** at you and your pants will rip and traffic will back up and it'll rain on your new Zaino job and a bird will crap on you and, well, just don't do it, man - for the love of God, don't do it!!!

Ain't that a country song?

And my deepest apologies to HowardPM for hijacking your thread like this. Mixing them is fine. And please don't get mad at our bizarre sense of humor.

Ha

I actually enjoyed reading those post. Though some of the purple stuff suppose to have a nice fresh scent. When you mix that with the gross smelling blue stuff you get what?
