Ok yah I know my battery is in the Boot but how do I connect something under the bonnet to the battery? Without running a cable to the boot?

You'll see a (+) terminal right next to the air box.
(passenger side).

The ground can be had on the motor mount bolt.

If this is the brace used for jumps I know where this is. But can this be used to attach a (-) cable for powering something?

If you're wiring something like driving lights, you can just use one of the strut mount nuts as ground. I thought you were trying to charge your car or something. glad it worked for you though.
