Need help with Pipercross induction kit

Hi, I have put 10K miles on my pipercross induction kit. I was wondering what is the best way to clean the foam filter, since it's clogging the air flow and the cleaning oil does not help that much. Thank you in advanced.

I wash mine in the sink (when the wife's not around) with hot soapy water.
You just need to massage it with the soapy water and rinse. Then repeat until the rinse water is clean. Then dry it with compressed air or a leaf blower and re-oil.

possibility

My son and I run RC gas powered trucks and they have foam filters which get really dirty, really quickly. For those foam filters the process is to clean them with the trucks fuel, it drives the dirt right out of them and makes the foam swell up (scarey the first time) but once you squeeze out the fuel and let dry the foam returns to normal. Then you oil it up and replace it.

I've done this hundreds of times (on the RC trucks) and the filter seems unaffected and was planning on doing this to my MINI's foam filter when it was time.

Just a thought but you might wanna reconsider doing this with your MINI's filter. Two reasons for this. First, R/C fuel is EXPENSIVE as im sure you are well aware, even more so when compared to dish soap. I used to race stadium trucks myself back in my days before michigan came into my life so im quite familiar with the $20/gallon nitro fuel. The second reason i would have to not use that stuff is just whats in it. While I realize you will be rinsing it out after you clean it, I have to wonder how much will end up still in the filter when you're done. Granted it would be minimal compared to the amount of fuel going through your motor, nitro plus methanol, not to mention all the lubricants running through your engine may not be such a good thing. Just my thoughts on it.

I would would purchase the Uni-Filter Cleaning kit. It is available at Outmotoring and most Motorcycle shops. It contains Foam Filter cleaner and oil. It is the same thing I use on my Alta.

The filter now is clean and sparkles under the sunlight. Cleaning took me 15-20 minutes, but the result was well worth it. The mini runs very smooth and quick respond at high throttle. Once again, thank you for your suggestions.
