Rattle from plastic, bottom of rear side window?

Does anyone else have a problem with the black plastic under the rear side window rattling? Above where the rear speakers are. Driving on anything but perfectlly smooth roads I get this annoying rattling from it.

Can that part be taken apart easily so I can add some felt tape in between? Any other fixes?

This part is where I think the noise is comming from. Its not the seat belts I have checked.

Thanks in Advance.

Rattles in your Mini will proliferate in direct proportion to the amount of time you spend obsessing about them. Resistance is futile.

Try fastening the rear seat belts, then drive around...see if that's the ticket.

Mine does the same thing in the same location rear right. I just turn the radio up and the noise goes away  I may research the source of the noise when this weather improves

Thought I had same rattle...

But then discovered it was boot hanging cover that raises and lowers with the boot. Don't know its official name!

Here is a shotgun approach to the right rear panel rattle. The plastic lens cover for the boot light – place electrical tape at the latch points. The boot recess door – weather stripping around the edge at contact points. The rear panel – remove the seats, remove the plastic boot threshold, it is held in place by plastic rivets, you will need to insert something thin under the edge near the rivets and pry upwards. Some curved nose snap ring pliers placed around the rivets work great. Pull away the interior panel, it is held in place by plastic rivets at the front and back and by metal clips under the window. Inspect the plastic rivets and replace with the same colored rivet if needed. Look at the receptacles on the plastic panel that accept the metal male clips. Check to see they are not deformed and the metal clips are aligned. On my car one of these slots was mashed and the clip was bent and not anchored, also, there were multiple broken plastic rivets. Tap the B and C pillars to make sure they are secure, if not give them a sharp rap and see if that anchors the tabs. If not, send me a P.M. and we’ll discuss your options. Place some thin weather stripping behind the antenna junction box and tighten the mounting screw. Make sure the air bag tube bracket is tight and all the wiring bundles are secured (they have rivets with tie wraps). Remove the speaker and look into the recess for forgotten treasures from the factory. Look at the seatbelt reel, mine was loose because of a cross-threaded mounting bolt. Before re-attaching the panel, place electrical tape around the base of each rivet to keep them in place and insulate the plastic/plastic contact. Put thin weather stripping at the contact points of the B and C pillars. Do a test drive without and with the panel in place before doing a complete re-assembly. This would be a good time to remove the entire rear interior, apply a sound dampening material like Brown Bread or Dynamat to the hollow spots and speaker area, and give all anchor and contact points the treatment.
