Fuel Surge
Fuel Surge
Hi all, I have an intermittent fuel surge issue on my Mini Challenge..the normal left turn situation. It hasn't always been there and doesn't seem to matter how much fuel is in the car...yes more often with less fuel....but it's also not constantly doing it.
The car has done a little over 10,000km since new (race km). Been running the car on e85 for the past 10 or so years
I had replaced the fuel filter and it kinda helped but probably not really to be honest.
A couple of questions regarding the intank fuel pressure regulator, what would be a sign of one of these failing?...if it has failed or is starting to fail can it be replaced separately or do I just go ahead and get a new filter/level sender unit.
Considering the e85, i'm thinking it's probably a good idea to replace the filter/lever sender unit anyway. The e85 could have eaten the seals in the intank regulator?.
The fuel pump is a possibility, it's only a few years old tho and we replaced it last time it was on the dyno. I did check it and was some crap on the filter housing at the pump but nothing that would have caused the issue. I have the DW65v
Any other ideas?...what I know from just checking my in car footage was i had between half and 3/4 full tank. for one of the races it had done it.
Here is a little clip... i tend to ease off at this corner and not accelerate as hard after its happened...not ideal!~
