Help me sort out key issue !!

I have two keys. One original, the second also original but with a freshly soldered in new battery.
Both keys work to start car. Both unlock doors manually
Doors lock/unlock with the switch on dash.
When I press the unlock button on either key, the interior lights come on, but nothing happens to door locks.

I’ve tried syncing both keys, but neither seem to sync correctly, or I’m doing it wrong lol. That said, the fact they trigger interior lights when buttons
pressed makes me think they are synced just fine.

I’m at a loss. Its almost like the part that receives the remote button press gets the info, lights the interior lights, but fails to send signal to the door switch.
Any clue how to trace that?
