I have a 2011 base. I have had to replace the valve cover/PCV valve twice, once in 2018 and again today. Both times the symptoms were surging/hesitation when starting and when accelerating from a stop, and yellow check engine light came on and stayed on. This is an expensive repair. Is there anything about my driving that may be causing this? Both times this occurred after driving at high speeds 85-90 mph for long distances (100+ miles). I always drive in sport mode.

Also, is there any preventative maintenance that my mechanic should be or could be doing that will prolong the life of the valve cover/PCV valve? I keep my car in good repair and do not have any aftermarket modifications on it. It has about 122k miles on it. Thanks in advance.
