Exhaust manifold removal
Exhaust manifold removal
To all those who have done this: Is it possible to remove the stock exhaust manifold thru the top once disconnected. I need to replace the gaskets on the oil cooler and it sure looks simpler with the manifold removed. Or, is replacing the oil cooler gaskets easier than it looks?
Much easier to do oil cooler when the manifold is out. There are 6 or eight 10mm bolts holding the manifold on. Make sure you get the gasket before it falls down on the starter. Oh, disconnect the battery first. I remember it only coming out one way so be patient and try it several angles unti it comes out. It’s a tight fit.
you might be able to tie it to the side and get enough space.
oh, if you have the manifold cover on, that bolt that holds it on goes in at an angle or something weird. I find that the hardest part of the job.
There should be some videos on you tube.
