Bought a remanufactured cylinder head, from a place a few hundred miles from home. Finally got ready to install head and put cam locks on head and just double checked Bentley book. The lobes are incorrect. Exhaust Intake
These Bentley pics are not for your engine, intake geometry is different which affects cam lobe positioning. A quick look thru my 1st edition Bentley manual doesn't show this feature for N12's and the page numbers are slightly different. You probably have a later edition.
Here's a screenshot of N12 cam lobe positioning, NOT taken from Bentley and it matches your pics. If all locking tools fit and cam lettering is up, go with it.
Thanks for response. It confounded me for a while. How could the cam shafts change, was all I could reason?
It mucked up a perfectly beautiful day to be working on a car. Rolling now though.
Best to all....
