continental belt equivalent to gates k060539
continental belt equivalent to gates k060539
I have 15% sc pulley with the ATI 2% damper and I've been using a continental 6pk1388 which is 1388mm (outside)but I find it's slipping so I went to a gates k060539 which is 1370mm (inside) and 1385mm (outside.)
The continental is a noticeably heavier ,better made belt so does anyone know of an equivalent continental to the gates 60539 ?

I used to prefer the Conti belts until I experienced a catastrophic breakage failure with one.
Ended up switching to the Gates green HD FleetRunner and it has served me well so far.
In use with the stock 11% JCW pulley.
Learned about them while searching various supercharged musclecar forums and saw that they're a popular choice.
Gates k060539 is 1385 mm outside measurement and 1370mm inside measurement and fits very well . Tensioner shows a little more than 1 hole .
Gates k060535 is what I've seen most people recommend but it seems too tight to me and will probably cause the tensioner to wear prematurely
Continental 4060539 is equivalent to gates k069539 and is a better, thicker belt
Continental 4060537 is between both gates belts in length
For the time being I'm running the gates k060539 to see if it slips . If it doesn't I'll get either the HD version of the gates k060539 or the Continental equivalent
If it slips ill try the Continental 4060537

It is ugly.

it was most likely a tensioner failure as opposed to belt failure, but it still prompted me to change belt brand allegiance anyways.

Awhile back I shredded 2 belts before realizing I had a bad tensioner. I drive my mini like I stole it and as soon as I hit 6k rpm or thereabouts the belt shredded.
I see the HD version of the gates belt is a bit smaller than the regular version which would be perfect

So here's an update . I installed the gates 60539 belt 2 1/2 weeks ago . At the time the tensioner had a hair more than one hole showing . I just checked and now there's no hole showing so the belt has stretched. I'm going to continental 4060357 which is 5mm smaller . If that stretches I'll try the gates HD version of the 60539
