Windscreen cowl rubber seal problem!

Hi all from NZ 🇳🇿

I’ve had this problem for quite some time now and I’m a verge to giving up.

I’ve replaced to a new windscreen cowl months ago and since then this overlapping rubber would not sit on the windscreen. I’ve been paranoid on the amount of rain running down there and possibly building up to ruin my mini in any way.

I’ve tried super glue and contact adhesive from auto store. This work for 1-2 days then eventually open up again, guessing from heat.

please send any help, I’m so close to giving up and just letting it be as is 😂 also don’t mind the mess, it’s old superglue that I couldn’t be bothered removing hhaha

Honestly they sometimes just don't seal very well in that area.

It doesn't need to be watertight. Any rain that goes under that just goes into the cowl area, which is designed to get wet.

Those plastic pieces are supposed to clip into a guide that is attached to the bottom of the windshield. If you ever got the windshield replaced, there is a chance this got messed up. Otherwise - maybe you haven't pushed hard enough.

I wouldn't worry about it.
