Bleeding ABS module

Hi all, the brake fluid reservoir ran dry during a brake bleeding fiasco. I bled the brakes twice more but still feel the pedal isn't quite right so suspect there may be fluid in the ABS module.
I don't have access to a diagnostic machine to bleed the ABS but did read that by engaging the ABS it opens up and then you can bleed as normal. Is this BS or does it actually work?If so would you have to bleed immediately or by opening does it hopefully push any air through to be bled normally?

Cheers...

Here is a video of bleeding abs and brakes. I just did mine in my mine, I used the motive bleeder and did a complete flush, did the slave but I don’t recommend doing that, I have a post about that experience. I filled it up with fresh fluid, pumped to about 17 lbs and went to town, of course I cleaned when old fluid I could out first. Brakes are nice and firm and fluid so clean it hard to tell if it’s full. When out on the dragon for MSSD in October, we swapped fluid in an 06 R53 using the pump the pedal and open the valve method. There where 3 of us so was an easy job to keep an eye on everything. On both of these jobs no scantool was used to bleed the abs, and both are braking just fine. Don’t do the slave cylinder unless you do a lot of homework first on it and get the special tools or make your own, everything is perfect now, but it’s not a one person job at all.
