2010 1.6 S turbo Compression 100 on all Cylinders
2010 1.6 S turbo Compression 100 on all Cylinders
Could I have done it wrong? It was semi warm, just drove it around the yard to the basement door. I didn't disconnect the fuel pump. I removed all plugs and started it over but didn't let it turn over but maybe 3-5 seconds. The needle seemed to stop around 100 on all 4 cylinders. There was some variance though. One had 100 and the other maybe 104 then 100 then 101 or something close. Now, I understand this is low but should I have done something different to get a higher reading? Car runs fine and does use much oil. Qrt every 3000 miles if that. I was just trying to check the health of the engine.
Thanks in advance

I'd probably try it again with the engine fully warm. Did you have the gas pedal floored? If you didn't, the throttle plate was closed which could be contributing to your low readings.
But, if you're not using oil and readings are consistent, I wouldn't worry to much about it...Also, you can pull fuse 46 form the passenger side kick panel fuse box to kill your fuel pump. Start the engine and let it run it until it dies. Then pull plugs and do the compression test. Probably a little safer.
