Ding Dong . . . Can it be stopped?!

I'm in bind and I really could use some help.

We're 2/3 of the way driving down from Pittsburgh to south Florida in our R59 and I've got a fault with the spoiler sensor.
We got the scanner so I could check a try to reset. The fault that keeps coming up is: "A886/not present | JBE Active rear spoiler, end position Hall effect sensor faulty."
The spoiler seems to go up but once up it won't go down until I stop the car. And were the fault is triggered and the endless Ding Dong song starts.
Once stopped I can reset the fault and then push the button to retract it (not always the first time). However as soon as we drive again above 52 ml/hr the spoiler goes up and we get the warning on the dash and the ding dong tune won't stop!!!

We have 4.5hrs more to our destination I don't know how I'm going to handle it. And it's not that I can find a place to stop to have a look at it quickly...
How in the world can one not be able to stop a warning sound. It's driving me crazy.

Does anyone know how to quiet the warning song short of knowing what could the problem is?
