Hey yall im new to the fourm I have a 2011 mini cooper jcw that i just bought last week. Today while coming up to a light i pressed in the clutch and heard a crunch sound when the light turned green and i tried to take off the car wouldnt go into gear after pushing to the side of the road it wes ouldnt restart i believe because safety switch. Can someone tell me the proper procedure to remove the switch and how to test it with my multimeter and test light.
I figured out what i broke the master cylinder pin that conets it to the clutch pedal broke (stupid plastic parts) anyways i went to the hardware store and got a bolt that fits and reconected it but now when i press the clutch it feels soft and spongy and wont shift into any gears dose this mean i need to replace the master and slave cylinders? Im going to try bleeding the system today hopefully that fixes the issue.
Also should the spring be coated in grease like that?
