Engine noise? Please HELP

I own two R53 and my brother just bought a R56 with known problems. Turns out has a burnt valve so I removed everything down to the block and sent the head in for machining. Got it back and everything is back installed. I decided to start it to make sure it would without coolant and it did and ran it for about 30 seconds. I was about to turn it off when it started to sound like a Diesel engine. I’m worried since I didn’t have any coolant in there that something got hot. Please help!! This R56 I will tell you much more complicated than my R53.

Try putting coolant in it and run it again.

Unable to upload buts its coming from the valve train. Sounds like there is no oil lubricanting the rockers. I pulled the valve cover back off and looks fine. What am I missing? where does the head gets it’s oil from port wise? I would like to crank it over and see if I can see oil coming up. Since I had the oil filter housing off to replace the seals would it be air bound ? I have no idea just thinking out loud. It’s definitely coming from the valve cover area

Well for a update I was told the noise was lifted noise and needed to rev the engine to 2500 or so to build oil pressure to pump up the lifters. So I did that and the noise started to go away then heard mechanical crashing noises. Took the valve cover off and the exhaust sprocket bolt broke and was laying in the chain cavity. Just got the head back off and every exhaust valve is bent and all four pistons have valve impressions. Obviously the valves need replacing but are the pistons ok like that
