My engine was replaced within the last 5000 miles. The plugs were new, I believe the coils were not replaced.
The chassis has roughly 127k miles. The car started misfiring two days ago and now will not idle. Error codes indicate misfire on 2nd and 4th cylinder. I replaced all 4 coils. The 2nd coil was corroded with what looks to be rust. I replaced the plug in the 2nd cylinder only. There’s still brown dust down the tube. I’m not sure if the coil requires some kind of connectivity down the tube. The car will not idle and still sounds like it’s misfiring.
maybe the injectors are dirty or were not connected tightly?
Thanks, I think you may have been on to something. I fiddled with the plugs and coils several times. Started the car and it had the same symptoms. On the last try it ran for a couple seconds and then all of a sudden it stopped. It's been running good since. Maybe a clogged injector cleaned itself out...who knows. Thanks for the reply!
