Can't open 2011 Hatchback

Hi all, I have a 2011 R56. I only bought it recently and it has a few issues that I was aware of but they are proving a bit more difficult to solve than I expected. The rear hatch on my car will not unlock and thus, cannot be opened. I am trying to find out the location of an emergency cable to open it. My car does not have a cable under the middle of the back seat and the parts drawing shows that there should be a cable, etc. somewhere on the rear passenger side. Does any one happen to know where exactly, because I can't find it.

Thanks

Neil M.

From what I know, not all of them have it, I think. In my countryman and paceman, I had to pull the plastic cover to get to the motor mess with it. is it even getting power? or it is stuck/corroded?

There doesn’t appear to be any corrosion. From what I can hear and tell there’s just no power getting to it

Try unscrewing the licence plate light cover. This exposes the connector to the lock motor. Apply 12V to the motor side & see if that will open it.

Okay, found the connection and power to the latch directly. It does nothing, so it seems the latch is dead. Next step us to see what I can remove to gain access in the luggage area. Ugh
