R55S- No Crank/No Start/Batt good
Hello,
I've read a lot of posts about No Crank/No Start issues on this site, but none seem to be helping this issue i'm having. First off, This is a 2011 S Clubman. I replaced the engine about 8 months ago and drove it 4000 miles no issues!. One Day I parked it for a few nights, came back to try and start it and it wouldn't budge. No crank, the starter did not sound like it was getting juice at all. Pulled the codes (Foxwell N510 Elite) got the CAS terminal 50 error no comm with Starter.. worked with RPM motorsport, learned the CAS isn't the problem it's likely a wiring issue between the CAS and the starter. Other codes that came up at the same time as the T50 error was No comm with Alternator (3861 and 385C). I've checked wires for continuity, everything seems fine. One thing I did notice that the last time the car did start it sounded like it labored more than usual (perhaps the alternator is toast). The battery is new and is good, keeps a solid charge. All of the instruments light up on the panel. It only seems like the problem resides in the starter circuit.
So my question is, What am I missing here?? Relay Terminal 15 (I01069 behind JB A4010) is one of my culprits but I'm really don't want to pull that Junction box out of there to test it if I can avoid it. I've checked all relays/fuses for any failures, all seem fine except I01068 (culprit 2) which works, but it's a little unusual because if i test it, the windshield wipers start going, the Airbag light illuminates on the dash and i'm sure a lot of other things are happening.
Any insight from the community is awesome. I've learned so much sense i started this project, but this little gremlin is kicking my butt
Best,
John
