Yesterday as I was getting ready to leave work Chilly would not tumble. At first it did not phase me, because I simply tried again and off we went.

I get to Costco without incident, but when I try to leave again she would not start. After a third attempt she started, and I was on my way to the babysitter.

She started in one when I left there, but I have not tried it since (I'm almost afraid to try). Anyway I experienced starter problems in one of my previous used vehicles, but that car was almost ten years old at that time so that is understandable. I recognize the symptoms, but I just can't believe it.

I don't do frequent starting just in case you are wondering.

If anyone has any ideas or input let me know.

Lolo

Need more info... do you mean the starter wouldn't crank at all? Could be something simple like a bad relay...

Lolo,

They're right; form the info you gave it could be a couple things.

First - check the battery terminal.

Does the starter click? That would suggest either a battery or loose connection.

Does the car do nothing? That would suggest a relay or totally dead battery (the latter of those obviously not being oyur problem). It could also be a total disconnect.

Feel free to contact me, and I'd be glad to try a phone diagnosis.

Crank but not start - sounds like the dreaded cold start issue. Take it to the dealer and have them upgrade it with CD 3.3 - some dealers don't have it yet, so call first.

Everyone,
Thank you for your quick response to my "problem". Randy gave me some suggestions and put me at ease. THANK YOU so much Randy.

It was just like calling the Help Desk when my PC is crapping out on me. You're the best.

In fact all of you are pretty cool,

Lolo
