P0118 Coolant Temperature Sensor Not Reading Correctly

I just finished servicing my supercharger and replacing my clutch today. When I went to add coolant and bleed the radiator, I noticed the check engine light was on and the coolant temperature sensor was pinned at hot even when the engine was cold. When I read the engine code, it said P0118, Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit High Open Problem. Now I am scared to bleed the coolant system because the engine might overheat and I wouldn't know because the coolant temperature sensor isn't working. Any thoughts or ideas? Is it possible I broke the sensor while replacing the clutch?
