Metal in the oil pan and looking to replace the engine in a r35
Still looking to put a cam in it. I think that will fix the misfire in cylinder one. I will check what codes I have after I have completed and ran the engine after this round of fixes. I found a hose not even hooked up off the cold air intact.
Also: Catch can will help with limiting the oil build up on the TB and the IC. Make sure that IC gets cleaned inside too.
I'm not sure if the cam will fix the misfire, but I'd so go for it! I cannot recommend the OEM coil pack or the Detroit Tuned Bypass Valve enough.
Seriously, worth the investment.

Many times build up on throttle plate and map sensor is due to oiled air filters. I come across this quite often. Ditch oiled air filters for non oiled air filters!!!
A fouling map sensor, can cause all sorts of run ability issues. In the winter, the sticky oil can keep the throttle plate from opening at all. These cars are fly by wire!
A catch can is a good idea too!

I am having MAP sensor problem. But I wager that oiled fouled MAP sensor is a old wives tale. You are unlikely to cause a failure on the MAP or TMAP by oil. The T sensor is just a NTC thermistor, and the MAP is a piezo electric sensor. There is no electrical contact like a potentiometer inside these thing. No moving parts. Just semiconductor.
If you go google you will find all sort of ways to clean MAP and O2 sensors. Such is interweb. When they die, no amount of cleaning will help.

I got this Ruien Universal 400ml Oil Catch Can Tank with Breather Aluminum Compact Dual Cylinder Polish Baffled Engine Air Oil Separator Tank Reservoir Kit Red

The R53s aren't direct injected, so a walnut blast isn't needed like they are on the R56. I wouldn't bother. Use good fuel with a detergent and that won't be an issue. Shell or Chevron have been my go-tos.
Looks like its comes along, just make sure to clean out the residue oil out of the intercooler. Based off how dirty the TB was the intake was not doing too well. Walnut blasting is for the Gen 2 MINIs turbo engines. You will not need that. my r52 is up to 283K miles and still clean as ever. Change that oil and get a new Mann filter.

You will get codes,if you remove it. It is easy to weld, but make sure you align them as they were, when installed, just use a magic marker to align it, when you take them both off. I cut off some of the sheild to make welding easier.
I guess you could do it installed, but I can not and I have done a couple of these.
