Snow wheels and tires rubbing noise metal on metal at large steering angles
On my '06 checkmate, I got a set of Honda steelies and some x-ice 195/60/15. Just put them on yesterday.
Today I'm getting off the highway and I hear a clunk and grinding noise on a hard turn. I pull into a lot and find a, what I thought was a piece of wire.
Turns out on hard turns the tiered ball joint threads contact the wheel. It shaved some off! I thought with the 56.1 bore and the 4x100 and same offset I was good.
I'm guessing I'm not good, luckily I have 5mm spacers at home.
Also over big bumps I'm hearing a clunking and rubbing , like shocks or something else contacting. This sound does not sound metallic.
Do I have the wrong size tire too for winter?

Plan B.
I grabbed the sawzall, and trimmed the threads exposed past the nut for the tie-rod ball joint, hitting the wheel, basically making the threads flush with the nut.
Roadtest, no noise, no rubbing.
