2013 mini cooper transmission dead????

hello i have a 2013 mini cooper base model automatic and last night i struck something on the road then in about 2 miles later i lost my transmission!!! when the tow truck came i noticed that i punctured my transmission pan and it drained the fluid. i was wandering if the transmission went out because of a safety setting to make sure that there is no more damage done to the car?????? someone Please tell me i'm correct!!!????

I dont know about that but when you lose fluid the clutches cannot slip and then there is no pressure in the solenoid to move fluid through the system. I dont think the trans can be saved without looking at it. I would turn it into your insurance and they should cover it as something hit your car.

I actually bought a '14 clubman from the auction with a squished transmission pan. it was bad to the point where the filter also got squished. an ATF pan, filter, and about 5qrt of ATF, the transmission is working like new. the cost was less than 200 and it took me about 2 to 3 hrs to finish.

So, replace the pan, fill it up to the recommended level and you should be on the road.
