Clutch issue.

So quick back story. Had the engine out of my car to replace some various gaskets and seals.
while it was out I replaced the clutch. I went with a single mass flywheel kit. So I installed that (as far as I know correctly). The tob didn't seem to click in as tight as I wanted. Unless I damaged one of the little tabs.
So I was getting close to wrapping up the engine install, and was like let me see how the clutch feels.
There's very little pressure, and only at the very end. It's not a lot of pressure either.
I didn't undo any of the hydraulics.
I don't see any leaks.
Where the slave connects on the fork lever. It's firm and not much movement (seems like it should be).
So seems like the tob would be in it's proper place against the PP fingers.
Ideas? I should of checked when I first set the motor in, in case I need to take it out.

I went thru a similar process on my last install --- clutch pedal moved very easy by hand. When it was started, clutch operated just fine. Probably a case of over-worry. Tell us about it when you get ready to put it back on the road.

Ok. I was doing some more reading, and seems like people say with the single mass conversion the pedal can feel very light .
perhaps I am over thinking it, and just not use to the lightness of the feel.
The dead travel at the top is the oddest feeling.

You should be able to do a little bit of testing before you put everything back together. Sounds like you have the engine and trans installed along with the hydraulic clutch parts. If you have the axles installed you could have someone turn the front wheels by hand while you work the pedal to make sure you are fully releasing the clutch and it is fully engaging.

Ok I could try that. Pretty much everything is back installed besides the axles.
I didn't mess with it much last night. Checked before I was heading in from the garage for the day. Felt off, so I pretty much came in after pumping the pedal a handful of times.

So I got to get back to the car today. I actually just went ahead and finished putting it together.
The lever on the trans does move when pushing the pedal. I'm not sure how much it's suppose to.
But the car won't go into gear unless I pump the pedal a few times to build some more pressure.
So this is sounding like the slave needs to be bled?To have better pressure in the line on the first push of the pedal.
Is it normal for some air to get in without disconnecting any lines? Just not being connected to the trans lever maybe the slave cylinder rod extends out to far?

I had a similar problem. The slave cylinder was leaking. So, I replaced it, but that didn't solve the problem. I replaced the master cylinder, and that didn't fix the problem (bled system after changing both components). Pulled the transmission again; the pressure plate bolts backed out.

No, it's not normal for air to get into the system unless you have a leak or disconnect a line.

I don't think that could be the problem. After installing the new clutch the car was never started, so no way for the bolts to back out.

I'm gonna make a bracket to compress the slave, and try bleeding it today.
im thinking since I had the slave pushed out of the way, and it was higher then the reservior. That some fluid ran backwards into the reservior. Creating an air pocket in the line.

There may be a check valve in the slave cylinder. This check valve gets gunk in it and it no longer operates properly and can wear out a new clutch pretty quick. Some places recommend changing the slave cylinder along with the clutch.
