R56 non S , cold start problem
hello ,
Only happens if the car was sitting overnight and the temp is below freezing.
For 10 seconds , after i press start button work/sound just fine , after that rough idle for 20-30 sec.
After that works fine for the rest of the day .
It has over 260k km (~160 k miles )
I have changed : oil , spark plugs, filters (oil, air) , catalyst, upside part of the engine ( the one with the logo) ,distribution,
And i get the "check engine" sometimes and P111B error.

lol...i got you...
but in general, you need to fix the cluster too...it has the wrong coding. i made that mistake few years ago and one of the subsequent issues was draining the battery. That code kept coming even when the car was turned off.
to do the coding you'd need NCS expert along with K+Dcan cable.

when you started the car, it showed the two seaters as a convertible or roadster...the coding actually takes less than five minutes.
The car is ON (not running)
fire up NCS
go to file ---> load profile ---> Expertmdoe ---> (F1) ---> (F3) ---> R56 ---> CAS ---> (F6) ----> choose ECU ----> KOMBI ----> process ECU.

That PCV piece is part of cylinder head cover ? (http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=11_3953 )
I have changed that whole piece in April.It must be a hose problem .
