05 r53 Intermittently wont go into gear

Hey everyone!
My 05 cooper hatch, MT, has started doing this awesome thing where it pretends to be in neutral no matter where the shifter is. Valeo clutch is just under 2 years old. Shifter feels normal. Clutch pedal feels normal. Slave cylinder is moving and not leaking. No weird noises when revving. So to start out, I took the air box out to inspect the linkage cables and everything looked ok. Nothing had come apart and things seemed to move freely. After putting everything back together, I decided 'what the hell' and tried to drive it. AND IT MADE IT DOWN THE BLOCK AND BACK....to half way in my driveway and then wouldn't grab again. Any ideas on what might cause this weirdness?

Possibly air in the clutch system. Try to bleed it!
It may also be the throwout bearing slide is broken or bent (possibly stuck somehow.
It sounds like it does not want to release.

Slave cylinder might be the problem.

Sorry for the delay in response. Holidays and such. So I have the car up on stands. When I put it in gear, the wheels move like normal. clutch feels good. I checked the axles and they don't seem to have popped out . There is a good amount of clearish fluid on the bottom of the differential though... Any thoughts?

Brake fluid from the hydraulic clutch. The slave, or tubing has failed.
