That hard pipe only goes between the vacuum pump and the brake booster. There is another pipe that goes to the vacuum tank, which then connects to the turbo waste gate. None of those tubes go to the intake manifold.

With the variable valve lift that these motors have, they basically run at next to no vacuum on the manifold. Hence the vacuum pump to provide enough to operate the brake booster and wastegate. Otherwise we’d have no boost and no brakes, lol.
Under normal driving circumstances, which can get a tad spirited, I usually only ever see up to 2 INHG of vacuum on my boost gauge. And it usually sits closer to zero.
Can you please explain to me how we get a strong vacuum under the oil cap when the membrane is ripped?

I am not the one to be able to explain the mechanics of what's going on inside the PCV system, but it is one of the symptoms.
I can't really help much past that.
I did not have the same luck as others. I went slowly and then heard a "pop" and the cap came off along with it two sections of the ring :( They where stuck to the diaphragm pretty good. Attempted to JB Plastic Weld the parts back on. As soon as I put the new cap on it cracked the ring in the exact some spots. So off to the dealer it goes for entire new valve cover :(
I did notice the 4 tabs are angled on one side, this leads me to believe you lift the the front end off the little post, and then rotate this cap rather than drying to pry it off? Why knows?
