2007 Base R56 Electrical issues and Codes P110F & P1551
The issues started with what I was told was a bad battery. The battery would drain and I would have to jump it. Advance Auto advised me to get an AGM battery and was told that it doesn't need to be registered because it doesn't have the IBS. I purchased the new battery and all seemed well for a few weeks. Then it seems as though my car is possessed. It started to have a difficult starting again and the airbag and seatbelt light turned on. The car windows started doing down on their own. I put the key fob on the ignition and nothing happens. I have to push start several times before anything electrical turns on and then the car will start. There weren't any codes showing when scanned but now a P110F and P1551 code is showing. I was told that I need a new engine wiring harness. Others told me it's a bad footwell computer due to rain leakage from the sunroof. Now the airbag, seatbelt, ABS, engine light, brake light is on.
Can anyone advise me on what the issues could be? Mini wants over $2000 to deal with the P110F and P1551 codes.
I did have a new Pioneer double din stereo installed.

I wouldn't worry about the codes yet, they could be a symptom rather than the root cause. I'd start by disconnecting the negative lead of the battery and removing the footwell module, aka the FRM. Take it out, and keep tearing it down until you have a printed circuit board in your hands. Be careful with it. Take it inside, keep it clean, and work on a soft surface.
Does it look like it's ever been wet? Is it corroded at all? Is every pin clean and straight? Is there anything connecting adjacent pins or solder points? Look closely under the plastic electrical connector ports. If it looks virgin that MIGHT not be the problem, but most of your gremlins (and maybe all, but I don't know about all of them) are managed from that device, and they're prone to water damage.
It's not hard to pull it out. If it fails any of the tests above, it's a manageable fix that might only cost a few hundred bucks. Or you could get super lucky and clean it up well enough to go back in with a solution to your problems. Or it could just be a wasted but fun saturday adventure.
Here's a useful thread. ANd here are some nasty-*** pics of mine. I get multiple K-CAN errors
