No start issues: startup sequence
No start issues: startup sequence
Can anyone post the startup sequence to shed light on some of the issues which can cause a no start condition after repair or replacement?
(Like mine, after replacing crankshaft position sensor, then correcting timing)

This is not sexy, but the basics apply. Spark, fuel, compression. Check for each one of them. If you replace the CPS, there's a way to check it for voltage if you're concerned if it's good or not. It's in the manuals, and I've seen a few how-to's online as well. And since you messed with timing, I'd throw the timing tools back on it and make sure you didn't get it a few teeth off somehow.
Compression was brought up there too and I don't think you confirmed that it had been done. Ideally both compression and leak-down. Both can give a lot of insight into what's wrong, or if you're a glass-half-full kind of gal, what you can eliminate from further troubleshooting. You should be able to find a compression tester for under $20 and a leak-down tester maybe 2x that, though you need at least a small compressor to use it.
Does it ever sound like it's close? And have you replaced any of the electronics besides the JBE and the various sensors? Like any of the ECUs? Just want to make sure you didn't swap out the CAS or something without programming. Just throwing stuff out there (and giving you a bump to get you back to the top
)
Still no dice
Thanks for suggestions! It is still frustrating. I am planning to do a compression check, although I really don't think it changed since it was running before.... No other electrical were changed. I did double check timing, and it's perfect. Although I hate it, think the dealership for more advanced diagnostics may be the next step.....
