Online Order Status Sequence Timing

OK, we're selling our '02 MCS and have an '07 ordered. I would like some input on the relative time it takes to go from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production" to etc.

Don't rely on MINI's on-line vehicle tracking. It appears to be updated after the fact ---- way after. Best to keep in touch with your MA.

I ordered mine on April 13 but there was a problem at the dealership so it didn't get sent until the 20 and began production on the 24 I believe. Call 1-866-ASK-MINI and they can tell you exactly where your car is from the plant to the docks!!! Just ask to speak to a person and tell them you'd like to track your Mini, they are much more accurate than the recording and OL. I'm leaving now to go pick mine up!!!!

Congrats on your order, Mikeo

As for the timeline you're inquiring about...I think "On Order" - "Scheduled for Production" takes about the same amount of time that it took several of our new '07 owners to go from "Sane" to "Over-the-Edge-Insane"...examples: Skuzzy, Muse, LynnEl, Ex-Pat....it's a long and distiguished list

check w/ MA. Do not go by on-line site. Things change. On Sat. when I was in w/ a friend placing his order, my car was week 24 production. As of this morning its wk. 23 production. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I'm in the West, New Mexico to be exact. Called Ask-Mini and it's scheduled for production the 23rd week.

Since we have the '02 MCS to play with we can be a little more patient--at least until we sell it. BTW, it's a Chili Red/Pepper White, no-options (except for 17" mini-lites w/Falken 452s), so it is about the lightest version there is. We've added Alta 15% pulley, Cold-Air Intake, and rear Swaybar. Only 45K miles. Awesome car!

The Owner's Lounge is only moderately accurate, and at times can be several weeks (!) behind. I don't know why. But call the ASK MINI line, they are really nice and can look up exactly where your car is (one day I got "Ohhh it's in paint right now!") and for the most part they all love to talk to excited expectant MINI owners You can call several times a day and they don't even get annoyed (how do I know this?...). Once it gets to the VDC, THEN your MA has a better idea of where it is than anyone else.

Yes, we called 866-ask-MINI about 2 hours ago they told us it was on a truck headed for the port and if we call tomorrow they might be able to tell us what ship it's going on!

don't waste time with on line service. They show my car as ON ORDER.
Talking to a rep at ASK MINI got me this ---
PRODUCTION STARTED TODAY-call whenever you want should be completed by 6/5...I LIKE HIS ANSWER BETTER.

Online was useless for me...my car never actually entered prduction according to the Owner's Lounge. Then, once my car had left the VDC, the automated ASK MINI info reverted to "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel." I suppose actually talking to people would be good but I didn;t have luck on the few occasions I actually talked to a person at ASK-MINI.
