2009 Popping a CCID 031
2009 Popping a CCID 031
Yesterday was my birthday. Yesterday was also the first time I've popped a code on my mini (which I've only had for about a month now).
It's 2009 Clubman (base) with 70k miles on it. Last night when getting home from the store, I turned off the car and noticed that the fan had stayed on. I bit concerned, I let it run for about five minutes before I started up the car again. But when I started it, I got a check engine light and a CC ID of 031. So, I shut it off again and the fan continued to run for about 10 minutes before shutting off. I thought this was a bit weird since the temps here are in the 60s. I checked all the fluids and everything seems to be where it should be. Also, no leaks. This morning, the light is still there. However, I noticed a slight puff of white smoke when I took off from a light (only about 2 minutes after starting it). It only happened twice and then the smoke went away for the rest of my 20 minute city drive. The fan didn't stay on this time, despite being the same temp it was last night. But the light is still on.
There are no other symptoms. Idle is fine. Everything purrs like it normally has. No leaks. All fluids good. Etc. I also keep it on top tier gas from Chevron, and I had driven about 250 miles on this current tank before the light came on.
Any ideas?
